The simplest epitome for sense and act robots is the line follower, and your chance to realize one is not far. Take part in the LINE PURSUIT event of APOCALYPSE-13 and place a part of your brain in a miniature robot that traverses a path to reach its objective.
EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The event is open to students of all years. The participating team has to present a robot that traces a black line on a white background. The width of the track is 30mm. The track may consist of straight and slanting paths with or without orthogonal cuts. The team that finishes quickest wins. One piece of advice- “Don’t look back!”
SPECIFICATION [COMPULSORY]:
- The maximum dimension of the bot should be 20*20*20 cm.
- Potential Difference between any two points on the bot [maximum power source] should not exceed 12V.
- Strictly no use of Ready made mechanisms.
- However, ready made sensors and micro controller kits can be used.
ENTRY FEE Rs.50 WILL BE COLLECTED ON SPOT
RULES:
1. A team can consist of a maximum of three members.
2. Each team is allowed to have a trial round. There will be three trials for each team.
3. Two warnings will be given in case of going out of the track. On the third time, team will be eliminated.
4. Time taken for the completion of the circuit is the criteria for winning
5. Teams are not allowed to replace parts during the race. However, they are allowed to replace defective sensors, with a penalty.
6. Change of batteries is allowed, but game has to be restarted in that case.
7. The bot must be fully automated; manual interruption during the course will be treated as termination of the trial.
8. The bot will be eliminated if it doesn't start within 20 seconds from the start time.
